Sample Answer 1

One day, my friend Angoori Devi approached me because she needed to borrow a book for her upcoming literature class.

Angoori Devi and I have known each other since college, and we often share interests in books and literature. She had forgotten to purchase the required reading for her class, and the assignment deadline was fast approaching.

I had the book she needed in my collection, and without hesitation, I offered to lend it to her. We arranged a time to meet up, and I handed her the book along with a few notes I had taken while reading it.

Angoori Devi was relieved and grateful for my willingness to help. She mentioned how stressed she had been about the assignment and how thankful she was that I had the book she needed. She promised to take good care of it and return it as soon as she was done.

A few weeks later, Angoori Devi returned the book to me. She had not only finished reading it but had also written insightful annotations that she shared with me. We had a brief discussion about the book, and it was clear that she had gained a deeper understanding of the material.

Lending the book to Angoori Devi not only helped her with her assignment but also strengthened our friendship by showing that we could rely on each other for support. It was a small act of kindness that had a positive impact on both of us, reaffirming the value of lending a helping hand to someone in need.

Sample Answer 2

I once had to lend something to a person I knew. It was a few years ago, back when I was in college. My friend had asked if he could borrow my laptop for a week, as his had broken down and he needed to finish some assignments for his classes. I had just purchased the laptop for myself so I was a bit hesitant to lend it out, but I knew my friend was in a tough spot.

I ended up agreeing to lend him the laptop, even though I was a bit apprehensive about it. I felt a little uncomfortable about the request, as I was worried that something might happen to my laptop while he had it. But at the same time, I wanted to help my friend out.

My friend returned the laptop after the week, and thankfully, nothing had happened to it while he had it. I was relieved, and although I was a bit nervous about lending it to him, I'm glad I could help him out.

I felt a bit conflicted about this situation. On one hand, I wanted to help my friend out and do the right thing by lending him my laptop. But on the other hand, I was worried that something might happen to it while he had it. It was a difficult decision for me to make, but ultimately I decided to go ahead and lend it to him.
