Question: When should I reach the test center?
Answer: At least 90 minutes prior to your test so that you can relax and complete the registration process.

6. Question: Can I answer using capital letters?
Answer: Yes, you can. For example, ‘YAMUNANAGAR’ will be marked correct.
7. Question: Should I be concerned about my inability to spell certain words?
Answer: Yes, incorrect spelling means incorrect answer. No Marks!
8. Question: Can I use AMERICAN SPELLING?
Answer: Yes, you certainly can. However, it is preferable if you keep to one spelling style, either British or American. The answer will be marked correct if you write COLOR NOT COLOUR.
9. Question: In multiple choice questions, can I write words?
Answer: No, it is entirely dependent on the instructions. If you're asked to choose a letter, you must choose a letter rather than a word.
10. Question: Is it safe to use brackets?
Answer: No, it is commonly misconceived that it is safe to use brackets. Using them means that your question has two correct answers. By writing TABLE (S), you want to convey that both are correct answers: TABLE AND TABLES. So, you can avoid using brackets.
11. Question: Can I separate words with COMMAS in my answer?
Answer: There is no need to do so. You will waste your precious time. Commas do not affect IELTS marking. You can write TABLES CHAIRS COMPUTERS instead of Table, Chairs, and Computers.
12. Question: My answer requires the use of A PREPOSITION. Should I use it?
Answer: It depends upon the instructions and the number of words allowed. If you are allowed to use three words, then it is fine to write A GOOD TEACHER. Prepositions can be avoided, so GOOD TEACHER is also correct.
13. Question: What about the use of ARTICLES?
Answer: Unless the question is a sentence completion type, articles and prepositions have no effect on your answer. If you are asked to complete a sentence, then grammatical accuracy is paramount, so you must use article or preposition if the number of words allowed permits. Normally, while answering other types of IELTS listening questions, articles and prepositions can be skipped.
14. Question: What is the best way to write dates with months and years in IELTS listening answer?
Answer: There are quite many. Natives prefer the following type: 24/03/21 if no words are allowed or 24 MAY 2021 if one word is allowed.

Answer: 18/05 (18 May or May 18)

Answer: 8 and EIGHT are both accepted as numbers, so either will be fine.

Answer: ‘Oh’ here means zero, so it is 205.
