Sample Answer 1

I would like to share an important lesson that I learned outside of formal education.

One important lesson that I learned outside of school or college is the value of perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges. This lesson often comes from real-life experiences, such as facing setbacks in personal or professional endeavors.

I started my own small business. In the early stages, I faced numerous obstacles, including financial difficulties, supply chain disruptions, and unexpected competition. Despite these challenges, I refused to give up. I worked long hours, sought advice from mentors, adapted my business strategy, and continuously learned from my mistakes.

Through this experience, I learned the importance of resilience and perseverance. I discovered that setbacks and failures are not the end but rather opportunities for growth and improvement. I developed a strong sense of determination and the ability to stay focused on my goals, even when things became tough.

This lesson of perseverance and resilience became a valuable asset in my life, not only in my business endeavors but also in my personal relationships and other aspects of life. It taught me that success often requires pushing through difficulties, maintaining a positive attitude, and constantly adapting to changing circumstances.

In this way, the lesson of perseverance and resilience is a valuable and important one that many individuals learn through their experiences outside of formal education.

Sample Answer 2

I learned an important thing when I was in my early twenties. I was working as a freelance copywriter and was struggling to get clients. I was feeling overwhelmed and frustrated, and I knew I needed to figure out a better way of doing things.

That's when I learned the power of networking. I had heard of networking before, but I had never really understood what it was or how to do it. I started reading books and articles on the subject and attending networking events. I quickly realized that networking was a skill that could be honed and sharpened.

I realized that networking was an important part of any successful career. It gave me access to a much wider pool of potential clients and contacts. It also allowed me to hone my communication skills and to build relationships with people who could help me further my career.

I felt empowered when I learnt about the power of networking. I finally had a strategy for getting new clients and contacts. I also felt a sense of achievement that I had taught myself something new. I had taken control of my career and was determined to make it a success.
