20. You currently work full-time in a company but would like to change to working part-time. 

Write a letter to your manager. In your letter, 

. Explain why you would like to change to working part-time work 

. Say what times and days of the week would suit you best 

. Suggest how your work could be covered or completed if you work part-time

Dear Sir,

                                Please accept my sincerest apology for not being able to do full-time work as a secretary for your reputed company, 'Toyota', due to my grandmother's sudden illness.

                                 A couple of days ago, she had severe pain on the left side of her body, and she was paralysed. But after taking medical treatment, she is bedridden now. It is a serious concern because she can not move around, and I am the only one who can look after her.

                              Therefore, I am supposed to be with her during this hard time, and I would like to change my working hours so that I can do part-time work. I fully understand that this kind of inconvenience is very difficult, but I assure you that I will do my best.

                                 For this, I would like to make a kind suggestion that you allow me to work from home, and I will join the office on Friday and Saturday with extra working hours without extra salary, since my son is at home on such days.

                                    I hope you can understand my situation. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
