27. You have seen an advertisement in a newspaper for a job in the city post office during your holidays. You decide to apply for the job.

Write a letter to the director of the post office.

Dear Sir,

I am writing to inquire about a job provided by your post office for a postman, which was advertised in the Hindustan Times last week.

Last Friday, I read an advertisement for a vacant seat, so I decided to do work for your post office. I want to gain some knowledge and experience because it would be helpful in the future.

I am writing to tell you that I have recently completed my Higher Secondary Education. It is my vacation time, but due to the academic workload, I am suffering from obesity due to a sedentary lifestyle. Therefore, I am frustrated now. So I need to do that job.

I want to tell you that I am very result-oriented, punctual and hard-working regarding my work. I would like to do that work at lower wages so that I can get some experience and improve my physical health.

I would appreciate it if you could allow me to do this. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing in response to the job advertisement for the position of 'Book-keeper' at the local library. I saw the advert in The Hindustan Times, last weekend. I am quite interested in this opportunity and would like to work for the next three months during my holidays.

I am pursuing a Bachelors of Commerce from Saint Louis College in our city. I have also taken up a course, specialising in financial data. Thus, you can rest assured that I am completely capable of performing the job duties associated with the position. I have also worked on three similar internship projects over the last two semesters.

I am keen on being hired for this job because I need to submit a project report and present real working experience for the same. Furthermore, it will be a great opportunity to polish my skills in my field by having to deal with real-life scenarios.

I have attached a copy of my resume along with the letter. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
