24. You have seen an advertisement in the local newspaper for swimming lessons at your community sports centre. You want to find more about these lessons.

Write a letter to the manager of the sports centre. In the letter

• describe how well you can swim at the moment

• explain why you want to learn to swim better

• enquire about the time and cost of the swimming lessons

Dear Sir,

I am writing to inquire about a course provided by your reputed sports centre regarding swimming classes, which was advertised in the local newspaper, the Punjab Kesari, last week.

Last Thursday, I read an advertisement for sidestroke swimming, which you are going to organise on 25 June. I am very excited about these classes because I have a deep interest in swimming.

I want to tell you that I am a good swimmer. I have participated in many swimming competitions. Last year, I won a gold medal in the 11th amateur swimming competition, which was organised by the National Federation. I won two medals in freestyle, but I find it difficult when it comes to other styles, including sidestroke. It is encouraging to learn from an expert coach, Jai Deep Singh.

I have some questions regarding this course. Firstly, what does it cost a person? Secondly, how many batches are provided by your coach? I think, if you provide an evening batch, it will be convenient for me due to my college time.
