8. Your child is going away on a school trip for three days to another country. The head teacher wants some parents to join the trip and you would like to go.

Write a letter to the head teacher. In your letter:

• Say why you would like to go

• Suggest what you could do to help during the trip

• Ask some more questions about the trip

Dear Sir,

I am writing to express my interest in joining my son on a three-day school trip to New York City organised by your school.

I am joining Bhavya on this journey as a result of his severe medical condition. I have prohibited him from making any visits to his school for the same reason, but since this is his last year, I want him to spend his time with his buddies before heading off to college. I am certain that you have competent personnel caring for the children, but I am requesting that you allow me to accompany Tim on this trip.

As a medical practitioner, I am uniquely qualified to help with medical crises. You may count on me to monitor your health during the journey.

I am hoping you will let me accompany you on your vacation. I would also want to request the trip itinerary, which includes information on the sites to see, meals, and hotel check-in.

My reason to accompany Tim for this trip is his delicate medical condition. I have not allowed him to go to any trips throughout his school because of the same reason, but as this is his last year I would really like him to enjoy this one with his friends before he goes off to college. I am quite sure you have competent staff to take care of the children, but its my personal request to you that allow me to be around Tim for this trip.

Being a medical professional myself, I can be a great help at times of any medical emergencies. You can count me in as a health care for the trip.

I hope that you will allow me to be a part of trip. I would also like to request you for the itinerary of the trip with details such as places to visit, food and hotel check-in.
