 Sample Answer 1

The two maps depict the transformation of an island with the implementation of diverse infrastructure.

In general, the island had a substantial metamorphosis over the course of time, as previously undeveloped regions were altered to integrate basic and contemporary conveniences.

One of the most prominent alterations involves the establishment of a restaurant and reception space situated at the heart of the island. The addition of accommodation spaces, a pier, and a swimming pool has been observed, with the southern portion of the island remaining in its undeveloped state. A number of trees were removed in order to provide space for housing in the western area, while construction of a restaurant is presently underway in the northern region.                 In the southern region, a pier has been erected, with the welcome area encompassed by a perimeter vehicle track. Furthermore, a recreational swimming facility has been established in the western region to cater to the leisure needs of tourists.

The maps compare an around 250-meter expanded island before and after development.

Overall, the island has witnessed dramatic changes after development, such as constructed hut-shaped accommodation, reception, a restaurant, and an extended path that leads to a pier for travellers. It is to be noted that every change has been made without harming the beauty of nature.

Many houses have been built in the west and east without cutting down trees. A restaurant and reception have been built in the middle of the accommodation. Many other facilities have been given, like the vehicle track which connects the pier and the reception area. A footpath leads to the accommodations and a beach where travellers can swim. Via the pier, tourists can enter the island by boat and go sailing.

 Sample Answer 4

        BAND 6.5

The two maps illustrate the view of an island before and after the construction of tourist facilities. Overall, it can be noticed that massive changes have taken place, including the addition of a restaurant, a reception, accommodation and a pier.

Before construction, there were only some trees and a beach on the east side of the sea.

After construction, the most striking change is the establishment of an accommodation area. Furthermore, the restaurant and the reception are erected in the middle of the island. Another major change is that the accommodation is provided with a footpath and a vehicle track, which connects the restaurant, the reception and the pier. Added to this, a swimming area has also been built nearby the beach. All these changes have been made in the eastern and southern parts of the island, without disturbing nature. The western part of the island remains untouched, and the area is covered with some trees.
