BAND 6.5

There is little room for doubt that the need for the internet to stay up-to-date with the current education system is paramount today. However, I believe that there will always be a place for course books in the school curriculum, despite the many benefits of the internet.

The course books are developed by pedagogical experts, hence they themselves are a guided path to learning. Notably, they are designed in such a way that they are more reliable to improve students' academic achievement, increasing their potential for higher education. Moreover, course books are developed by doing deep research by reputed authors and are followed by many great personalities, which, in turn, helps students to have deep faith in hardbound books. Surely, the internet, too, plays an important role in the education system when it comes to doing independent research. This kind of learning is less teacher-led and more autonomous. Undoubtedly, sometimes a self-learner is misled in the absence of guidance from teachers and course books.

It is true that for adults, the internet is very helpful in terms of distance learning and online learning, as students can get an education at their own place without any trouble. It is easy for students to get an education through the internet, although it is a mature skill. Moreover, school-age students can use the internet under the guidance of expert teachers. To conclude, it seems to me that coursebooks with their quality and depth will remain an integral part of the education system. The internet can also be a supplement to this if used under supervision.
