The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Sample Answer 1

The charts provide information on the percentage of energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions resulting from that energy use.

In terms of energy use, heating accounts for the highest proportion at 42%, while cooling has the lowest proportion at 2%. Refrigeration stands at 7%, and surprisingly, lighting uses 4% of the energy. The energy used for water heating is twice as high as that used for other appliances.

Regarding greenhouse gas emissions, water heating has the highest percentage at 32%, while cooling has the lowest at 3%. Refrigeration contributes to 14% of total emissions, while other appliances account for a considerable 28%. Heating emits 15% of the greenhouse gases, whereas lighting has the lowest percentage at 8%.

In summary, it can be observed that heating and water heating account for the highest energy usage, while cooling and lighting have the lowest proportions. Similarly, greenhouse gas emissions are highest for water heating and lowest for cooling and lighting.

Sample Answer 2

Band 6.5

The charts below show the percentage of used energy and the greenhouse gas emissions which result from the energy use.

Regarding energy use, 42%, being the highest in proportion, is for heating, while 2%, being the lowest, is for cooling. The figure for refrigeration stands at 7%. The actual proportion of energy used for water heating is two times higher than that of other appliances. Surprisingly, 4% of the energy is used for lighting.

Turning to greenhouse gas emissions, the highest percentage of emissions is for water heating (32%), whereas the lowest is for cooling (3%). The proportion of total gas emissions by refrigeration is 14%, whereas the figure increases considerably and reaches 28% for other appliances. 15% of the gas is emitted by heating. However, the percentage decreases, reaching a low of 8% for lighting.

In summary, it can be seen that the use of energy for heating and water makes up the highest proportion. The actual emission of greenhouse gases by cooling or lighting makes up the lowest proportion.

Sample Answer 3

Band 6.5

The presented pie graphs depict information about energy consumption and the emission of greenhouse gases in Australian homes.

To begin with, 30% of the people in Australia use a heating system to heat water, while gases for water heating are emitted at a little over 30%. The figure for individuals using other appliances is only 15%, whereas for gas releases it is 28%.

It can be seen that there is a two-fold increase as much for gas emission as in the use of energy, about 14%, by the natives of Australia. The use of cooling is much less than the release of gas that is 2%. More than half of the population uses heating (42%) as an energy source rather than lighting, down to 4%, only. It is worth noting, fairly 8% of gas is emitted in Australian homes. However, the heating systems release much heat, surging to 15%.

In general, the trend for heating to obtain energy is the largest. On the other hand, for cooling, it is the lowest.

The first chart below shows how energy is used in an average Australian household. The second chart shows the greenhouse gas emissions which result from this energy use.

Sample Answer 4

Band 5.5

The first pie chart illustrates how energy is used in Australian households, while the second pie chart illustrates the greenhouse gas emissions from this energy use. Overall, water heating consumes maximum energy, and its greenhouse gas emissions are also high, whereas heating consumes less energy than its greenhouse gas emissions.

Regarding energy use, heating and water heating consume the maximum amount of energy, at 42 per cent and 30 per cent, respectively. However, cooling (2 per cent) and lighting (4 per cent) consume almost none. Other appliances' energy consumption is less than a fifth.

Turning to greenhouse gas emissions, water heating and other appliances emit a greater number of gases. heating and refrigeration gas emissions are the same, at around 15 per cent. The gas emissions of cooling (3 per cent) and lighting (8 per cent) are the lowest.
