BAND 6.5

There is little room for doubt that the last 15 years have seen more recruitment for the defence services than in the previous 30 years. Like many others, I am in favor of several countries, including India, Pakistan, and China, making military service mandatory for the younger generation after they complete secondary school. It would probably be better if all countries adopted this recruiting method for men and women in all countries.

Certainly, there are numerous upsides to serving in the army. One of the most significant positives is that young people can maintain both physical and mental fitness levels. To put it another way, if they join the military services, they will have to do hard training under the guidance of specialised trainers, which will help them maintain a healthy body. Moreover, they can get a handsome salary while serving the nation, and it is one of the most respectful jobs in the world. According to a survey conducted by the Times of India, 70% of students have taken the National Defence Agency (NDA) examination. This demonstrates that they are interested in serving in the army.

There is no denying the fact that, nowadays, most countries need special forces to protect their citizens and territories from threats. They need militant troops to build strong army agencies. Therefore, teachers should encourage students to join special forces so that they can protect the country from terrorist attacks. Research shows that countries, such as the USA and Russia, have the largest active armies in the world. Thus, they have little probability of any terrorist attacks because of their advanced detection system.

To conclude, after completing their education, both men and women, regardless of their gender, should be obliged to serve in the military. The nation as a whole benefits from the increased security and health advantages
