BAND 7

Without a doubt, the last 15 years have witnessed more changes in the manufacturing of food and beverages than in the previous 30 years. A significant number of food industries have been producing a considerable amount of sugar-containing products, due to which people suffer from many health ailments. The price of sugar products should be increased so that people consume less sugar. This essay will discuss the solid argument for this trend in the upcoming paragraphs, along with my opinion.

Indeed, increasing the cost of sugar-containing products has numerous upsides. One of the most significant is that people cannot afford items that contain high levels of sugar. To put it another way, they might not suffer from various health problems, such as obesity, diabetes, and heart attacks, if they do not consume sugary products like soft drinks and sweets. According to a survey conducted by the Times of India, Coca Cola, a famous beverage company, has launched a soft drink called "Diet Cola", especially for diabetic patients, which contains low sugar levels.

On the other hand, there are two types of sugar. The first is natural, and the second is artificial. The latter one contains 80% of the carbohydrates which are used in energy drinks, such as Sting and Red Bull. The price of these beverages is three or four times more than the price of other drinks because excessive consumption of these beverages causes health issues. Increasing the price of sugary products is not the only way to deal with the problem. In fact, there are a plethora of solutions to controlling bad-eating habits. One of them is producing awareness about the detrimental effects of products, which might help people change their eating habits.

To conclude, it seems to me that surging the cost of sugary products is not an appropriate way to deal with bad-eating habits.
