Museums have always needed to stay current with historical context. Museum entrance fees are controversial, as there are compelling reasons for and against charging visitors.
Museums are not just structures; they also serve as symbols of our illustrious past. It is critical that you charge them to enter, which offers a slew of benefits. The primary benefit is that it ensures museums are properly maintained since admission fees collected go toward museum maintenance. These funds might be used by museum staff to improve visitor amenities or for general upkeep and repair. Another benefit is that the money raised may be put to good use by improving the surrounding area. As a result, it has the potential to become a popular tourist destination. This will boost the local tourism industry and elevate the region's profile across the world. For instance, Panorama Museum is a famous tourist site in Kurukshetra. It is famed for the "Mahabharata War," which took place in Kurukshetra many years ago. A poll by the Times of India revealed that this museum receives about 2.5 million rupees in contributions each year. Aside from museum preservation, the trust donates 50% of its profits to girls' education. However, there are certain drawbacks to it as well. The first drawback is that visitors are reluctant to visit museums due to the higher admission fees. They feel that if they must spend money, it is preferable to do it on shopping or some other form of entertainment. The second problem is that some museum keepers have been found to squander money on fictitious activities.
Finally, I believe museum admission fees are necessary, but only up to a point where everyone in our society can afford them. Museums are critical to the well-being of society because they serve as excellent educational resources and help people widen their perspectives.
