BAND 7+

Obesity is a rising problem, and it is a significant public health concern. This article will begin by examining the main causes of the epidemic before moving on to the  repercussions.

Numerous factors contribute to the rise in the number of overweight or obese people. Inactivity and bad eating habits are perhaps the most common contributors to the problems. To begin with, they have consumed an excessive amount of fast food and junk food, which has had a detrimental impact on their physical and mental health. Not long ago, people lived long and healthy lives as a result of their abundant consumption of grain, lentils, fruits, and vegetables. Second, if people do not receive enough exercise in their daily routines, they will become sedentary, which will result in the accumulation of fat and cholesterol in their bodies. According to studies, it takes more work for an obese person to accomplish a task than it does for an average-weight individual.

The most serious result is a heart attack, which happens when the body accumulates an abnormal amount of fat. Furthermore, when a person's body fat percentage increases, their metabolism slows, increasing their risk of depression and other mental health problems. The health issues mentioned above have a detrimental effect on both an individual's professional and private life. According to research published in the Times of India, the majority of fat people suffer from stress and tiredness, which impairs their capacity and productivity at work.

To summarise, obesity is now recognised as a significant public health issue. It is linked with severe health problems and decreased productivity as a result of a sedentary lifestyle and food disorders.
