Band 7+

The maps illustrate the road network near a City Hospital in 2007 and 2010. Overall, the entrance to the municipal hospital was renovated in 2010, with the addition of a bus station, two roundabouts, and a separate public parking lot.

By the end of 2007, the hospital road was connected to the city road and the ring road, which was completed with three bus stops on each side. Furthermore, there was a shared parking area on the east side of the hospital road that serviced both the public and the personnel.

In 2010, there were several noteworthy developments. To begin with, the common car park was designated only for hospital employees, while a new public car park was created on the facility's east side. Additionally, two roundabouts were created at the city and ring road intersections on both sides of the hospital road. Finally, the three bus stations on each side of the hospital road were demolished, and a new bus station was created on the west side of the hospital road, with links to both newly erected roundabouts.

Sample Answer 2

Band 5.5

The maps illustrate the pre-construction and post-construction images of a road which was connected to a city hospital in 2007 and 2010.

Overall, the road has witnessed spectacular changes: a bus station, a roundabout, and a newly developed car park which was constructed without much affecting the natural resources.

To begin with, a new bus station was constructed to the west of the broad. Interestingly, a hospital road was reconstructed, and two roundabouts were added to manage the traffic on the road. The most notable development was the construction of a new staff car park which was located at the end of the hospital road. Notably, a public car park area was constructed on the eastern side of the city hospital and it was framed by the outer ring road which connects with the city hospital which was constructed in the centre.

Band 6.5

The two maps illustrate road access to a city hospital in 2007 and after modification in 2010. Overall, dramatic changes have taken place, including separate public and staff parking, the addition of two roundabouts and a bus station.

In 2007, the hospital road was connected with the ring road and the city road. Furthermore, there were six bus stops adjacent to the hospital road, and a common car parking area.

In 2010, the most striking change was that two roundabouts were built. One at the intersection of the hospital and the ring road, and the other at the intersection of the hospital and the city road. In addition to this, three bus stops in the west of the hospital road were replaced by a bus station, which was connected with two roundabouts, while bus stops in the east of the hospital road were transformed into only a staff parking area. Moreover, a parking area for the public was constructed separately adjacent to a city hospital.
